Experience with the bernina640e 08december2011 i bought the bernina 640e after i had actually owned one, which i traded up to an 830e. Although, at first glance, that seems an overkill, it is very helpful to have the 830e work through a lengthy embroidery project - for which i need to be close to it to monitor progress and intervene because of a broken thread or an empty bobbin - and then put together parts of a quilt for which i can use the 640. The 640 has all the qualities i need. It means i can efficiently manage time, using the 640 for one task while the 830 is doing its job with complex embroidery. I do not have dislikes for either one, knowing, of course, that both the 640 and the 830 have limitations and idiosyncrasies.
